Sometimes you're walking too far ahead...

If you want to be like everyone else, well do what they do. Truly that's what's easy. Doing something new or different in your circle of people, feels scary AF. Mostly scary because no one gets it. People are confused. People judge. People project their thoughts and perspectives on to you. People are just being people. I get it. I project and judge too.

If you want to effectuate real change, you'll need to be brave enough to withstand the critics who have good intentions, but just don't get you or what you're trying to do. You'll need to accept the pain of their disapproval and it will absolutely break your heart wide fucking open. You will expect understanding and you will be met with judgements based on their limited experience. They will tell you what they think because that is all they know. It will be painful. Brutal is more accurate. It will hurt you to your core. I'm just warning you now because no one told me.

If you feel inspired to create something different or do something out of the norm, just know you have to REALLY want it. You may have to stand on an island all alone. Be prepared because at first it may feel very lonely. I assure you though, your people are out there. You just have to be willing to look. Tune inward. Be willing to be vulnerable. Feel who feels right for you. Only allow the ones in that "get it". Truly in the beginning, you are on unstable ground, so you need to guard that shit with all you have until you build strength. You'll know who your people are because when you find them, your soul lights up and says, "HELL YES!"

Wanna know one more thing above all else? The masses will not understand and you will need to embrace that with all of who you are too. In fact, if the masses do get you, well you're probably taking the easy path. No judgement whatsoever if you are. I get it 110%. To be frank, I'm kinda pissed that I'm not taking the easy path right now.

Motivational Speaker Les Brown says, "if you do what's easy, your life will be hard. However, if you do what's hard, your life will be easy."

Be well.
